Registration

UTS Northern Suburbs offers a variety of membership options to suit your needs. The Athletics NSW season and club memberships are from 1 August 2025 to 31st July 2026.

2025/2026 Athletics NSW Open Athlete Membership is for athletes 19 years old and above($220)
2025/2026 Athletics NSW Junior Athlete Membership is for athletes under 19 years old ($140)

This is for a student seeking the premium athlete experience and the full ANSW calendar.

Athletics is conducted all year round but the types of events and competitions vary throughout.
A standard athletics season in Australia starts in October and ends the September of the following year (so one season is conducted over one summer).

October - March is where the majority of track and field competitions take place with the NSW Summer Series taking place along with State and National Championships.
The NSW Summer Series is the interclub based competition which the majority of NSW Athletes compete in. It includes traditional style athletics carnivals with a range of track and field events so you can run, throw and jump for the club.

National University Championships

National University Championships is intervarsity sports biggest event of the year where universities from around Australia battle it out in a wide variety of sports.
Team UTS has an established history of performing well at the athletics at National University Championships each year. Team UTS has been a top 3 team for years, and took out the male category in 2016, 2017 and 2021, as well as the overall champions crown in 2017 and 2021.
The 2026 UniSport Nationals will take place in April 2026.
The 2026 UniSport Nationals will be hosted in Perth, Western Australia

UTS City 2 Surf

An iconic 14km fun run from Sydney city to Bondi Beach.
Be part of Team UTS to receive a free team running singlet giving you access to a private marquee on Bondi beach where you will get a free BBQ breakfast, drinks, and massages.

UTS Run Club

If you are a student looking for social based running, casual training and to share your training and experiences with groups of like-minded people then UTS Run Club is for you! They conduct training runs within the city throughout the week. If you are interested in joining the group please check out the instagra - @uts_rungroup or Activate UTS

EAP nominations are open from Dec 1 - Feb 1 for each year, or 24 Jun - 12 Jul for mid year applicants.

Training Facilities - How to get there

UTSN’s home track and where many of the clubs coaches operate is Rotary Athletics Field in Chatswood. It is well regarded as one of Sydney’s best grass tracks. Rotary has an 8-laned 400m track surrounding a 10 lane 100m track through the middle of the oval. It also has one javelin throw runway, one discus/hammer cage, three shotput circles, two long jump runways as well as two extra jumping pits, high jump bags, and pole-vault access on one runway.
