2025 Junior National Championships

The club had an impressive showing at the 2025 Junior National Championships that were held in Perth (WA), securing 10 podium finishes including 4 gold, 2 silver, and 4 bronze medals.

Gold Medal Performances

Amalia Bond delivered an outstanding performance, claiming gold medals in both the Triple Jump (12.16m) and Long Jump (5.86m), and running a 12.55s in the 100m demonstrating her versatility across sprint and jumping events.

Cadel Holmes secured gold in the High Jump with a clearance of 2.02m, while James Mikan defended his Long Jump title from 2024 with a winning jump of 6.36m and added a bronze in Triple Jump (12.51m).

The 4x400m relay team featuring Olly McDonald and Thomas Scodellaro achieved a notable gold medal performance with a Championship Record time of 3:17.57. Both athletes also performed well in their individual 400m events, with McDonald finishing 4th (48.10) and Scodellaro 4th (49.58) in different age groups.

Silver Medal Performances

Alex Ingevics placed 2nd in the 400m hurdles (54.12), while Grace Townsend secured 2nd in the 400m hurdles (61.80).

Bronze Medal Performances

Matilda Harrison showed her sprinting prowess with a 3rd place in the 200m (24.18) and contributed to the bronze medal-winning 4x100m relay team (45.77).

Estelle Walsh added another bronze in the 4x400m relay (3:51.29) after placing 6th in the 400m (57.09).

Other Notable Performances

  • Jocelyn Blair and Annika Boys both secured 4th place finishes in hurdles events
  • Avie Russell placed 5th in the 100m (12.05) and 7th in the 200m
  • Elizabeth Whelan and Emily Govers placed 5th and 6th respectively in Hammer throw
  • Chelsea Forte finished 8th in Heptathlon
  • Alexandra Bova secured 9th in 800m
