Annual membership to UTS Northern Suburbs Athletic Club covers the period 1 October 2018 to 30 September 2019.

The 1 October to 30 September timeframe covers both the Summer and Winter season.

The 1 April to 30 September timeframe covers Winter season only (RunNSW category).

Sydney Track Classic 23 February

Welcome to the information page for this year's Sydney Track Classic - a high performance invitational meets, run by Athletics Australia, which will feature many of the best athletes in Australia.

Event 2 of the Coles Summer Super Series, the Sydney Track Classic, is just two weeks away. Athletics fans will be treated to some high level competition as the sport’s stars chase qualification for the 2019 Doha World Championships.

Highlight match-ups during the Track Classic will include:

Jack Hale v Trae Williams in the Men's 100m
Ryan Gregson v Jordy Williamsz in the Men's 1500m
An all-star lineup including Morgan Mitchell v Anneliese Rubie-Renshaw v Bendere Oboya in the Women's 400m

The 5000m will double as the Australian Championship, and all kids under the age of 18 will be able to watch the race from the track.

NSW Open and Para Championships Friday 8th - Sunday 10th March

The NSW Open, U23 & Para Championships is the premier track and field Championship of 2019 in NSW. 

Date: Friday 8th March - Sunday 10th March, 2019.


Competition Status:

These events are permitted by Athletics Australia (AA). An AA permit allows athletes to qualify for international events and break state and/ or national records.



Athletes must be registered with an Athletics NSW affiliated club for the 2018/19 season. If you are not currently registered with a club you can register online here. Interstate and International athletes are welcome to enter.


Age Groups

The NSW Track and Field Championships will be conducted in the Open age group, where medals for the Under 23 Championship will be awarded based on results from the Open Championships. The first three athletes aged 20, 21 or 22 in the calendar year of the event will be awarded Under 23 medals.

Para athlete events will be multi disability events. Medals will be awarded as a % of the world record.



Registered Athletics NSW club members must wear their correct club uniform. Athletes must have their Athletics NSW 2018-19 registration numbers attached on the front and back (except in jumps events).


Gate Entry

Spectators will be required to pay gate entry, Adults - $7.00 per person per day and U18’s - $4.00 per person per day.

Late Entry

Late entries are not guaranteed and are only accepted on the approval of the Athletics NSW Competition Manager or Technical Delegate. Athletics NSW reserves the right to refuse late entries.


Qualifying for the 2019 Australian Open Championships
Please visit go to http://www.nswathletics.org.au/AAC2019 for all the information regarding qualifying and entering the 2019 Australian Open Championships. Please note that you must compete in the 2019 NSW Open Athletics Championships to be eligible to compete at the National Championships. You can only apply for an exemption if you have been affected by extenuating circumstances such as illness, injury, living overseas and/or living further than 200km away from SOPAC. On the Day Check-in

Athletes must report to Athlete Check-In at least 60 minutes before the start of each of their events to confirm their entry. Failure to check in may results in the athlete being scratched from the event. Athletes are encouraged to check-in at the commencement of each day for all of their events for that day.

Field Events

In all field events, except for the high jump and pole vault, each athlete will be allowed three attempts and the eight athletes with the best valid performances will be allowed a further three attempts.
