About and Experience

Renee Liddy (Robson) is an experienced sprint coach and former elite athlete with a strong background in 200m and 400m sprinting at national and international level. During her athletics career, Renee achieved personal best performances of 23.6 seconds for 200m and 52.95 seconds for 400m.

Throughout her athletic and coaching journey, Renee has been fortunate to learn from and be mentored by some of Australia’s leading coaches, including Peter Fortune (coach of Cathy Freeman), Ron Roddan, and Robert Medlicott. She brings this extensive knowledge and experience into her coaching, helping athletes develop their technical skills, speed, and performance.

Renee currently coaches a group of sprinters, including state and national-level athletes, with training sessions held at Rotary Athletics Field on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and Lane Cove National Park on Saturday mornings.

Prior to focusing on athlete development and wellbeing, Renee worked as a Physical Education Teacher and School Sport Coordinator, coaching athletics (sprints and relays) in schools across Melbourne, Sydney, and London for 14 years. She later transitioned into athlete wellbeing and education roles with the NSW Institute of Sport and within professional rugby league.

Renee combines her experience as an elite athlete, educator, and coach to provide athletes with a comprehensive approach to sprint development, performance, and long-term progression.
