2015 Kings Sports Store Treloar Shield Round 1 Starts 17th October 2015

The Treloar Shield is an age group based competition for athletes of all ages, abilities, and aspirations. Athletes score points for their respective clubs which tally towards both the age group pennants and the overall Treloar Shield trophy. The winner of the 2014 Treloar Shield was UTS Northern Suburbs.
Athletes must be registered with an Athletics NSW affiliated club for the 2015/16 season. If you are not currently registered with a club you can register online here.
Registered Athletics NSW club members must wear their correct club uniform. Athletes must have their Athletics NSW 2015-16 registration numbers attached on the front and back (except in pole vault and high jump events).
The Treloar Shield competition is conducted in the following age groups U14, U16, U18, U20, Open, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+. Ages for all age groups are calculated as at 31st December 2015.
Online entry is $7.50 and closes midnight Thursday 15th October.

UTS Norths Dominate UTS Club Bay Run...Again
OCTOBER 11, 2015
The annual UTS Club Bay Run was held around the picturesque 7 kilometre Iron Cove Bay Run this morning with UTS Norths athletes dominating again, taking 3 of the top 4 places. Ruairidh MacDonald was first across the line, followed closely in 2nd by Will Austin-Cray. The third UTS Norths athlete Dom Bullock came in 4th. Congratulation guys for picking up 1st and 2nd prizes, as well as gaining $150 funding for the club.
The UTS Bay Run is an inter club competition, with all UTS clubs competing. Congratulations to the UTS Haberfield Rowers for coming second overall. Thank you UTS Activate for putting on the well run event again.

Correct Uniform must be worn for all Treloar Shield meets and State Relays coming up in November
OCTOBER 16 2015
Everyone will need a red and black UTS running singlet/crop top for all Treloar Shield meets as well as State Relays coming up in November.
Uniforms are usually available at Rotary Field on Wednesday afternoons from 4.30 to 6pm and at some other times by prior arrangement. Please email Sally to confirm/organise an appointment.
There will be a limited supply available at the first Treloar Shield Meet at SOPAC on Saturday 17th October. However, uniforms will not be available at subsequent Treloar Shield meets.
Limited stock may be available at State Relays, but for a full range of size choices, it is highly recommended you arrange to purchase your uniform at Rotary as soon as possible. (apologies - Mens large singlets are currently out of stock. All other sizes available)
All items are $40, payable by cash (correct money please) or cheque.
Black running shorts or compression garments should be worn with the singlet.

The Treloar Shield is an 8 round interclub track and field competition commencing in early October. It is named after the great NSW track and field athlete John Treloar. The Treloar Shield is an age group based competition for athletes of all ages, abilities, and aspirations. Athletes score points for their respective clubs which tally towards both the age group pennants and the overall Treloar Shield trophy. The winner of the 2014 Treloar Shield was UTS Northern Suburbs.
Competition Status:
The Treloar Shield is permitted by Athletics Australia (AA). An AA permit allows athletes to qualify for international events and break state and/ or national records.
Eligibility:
Athletes must be registered with an Athletics NSW affiliated club for the 2015/16 season. If you are not currently registered with a club you can register online here.
Uniform:
Registered Athletics NSW club members must wear their correct club uniform. Athletes must have their Athletics NSW 2015-16 registration numbers attached on the front and back (except in pole vault and high jump events).

On the day entry is available but not guaranteed and will only be offered in the Treloar Shield events if space exists in the event. On the day entry will incur a higher fee of $20 and entry must be completed one (1) hour prior to the athlete’s first event.

Para Athletes:
All para athletes are welcome and encouraged to compete at the 2015 Treloar Shield. Para athletes will compete alongside able bodied athletes according with their age group. Wheelchair track athletes will have a separate race scheduled where possible.
On the Day Check-in:
All athletes in TRACK events must report to athlete check in to advise of their intention to compete at least sixty (60) minutes before the scheduled starting time of the event.
Athletes entered in FIELD events only, are not required to report to athlete check in. Instead, field event athletes must report directly to the field event site at least twenty (20) minutes before the scheduled start time.

UTS AT UNIVERSITY GAMES
OCTOBER 18, 2015
It was a great week up on the Gold Coast with 34 UTS students travelling their as part of the athletics team making up the largest team that UTS has ever had and the 3rd biggest team of the competition. The effort from all the athletes during the week on the track was extremely commendable while the support from the stands was even better.
Special mention going to all the medal winners off the event which include:
Bella O’grady – 1st Women’s 200m
Emmanuel Fakiye – 2nd Long Jump, 2nd Triple Jump
Liam Speers – 3rd Discus, 3rd Shot Put
Matt Crowe – 2nd 400m, 3rd 400m Hurdles
Jay Felton – 1st 5000m Race Walk
Women’s Medley Relay Team – 2nd (Bella O’grady, Bianca Grimaldi, Madeleine Powell, Erin Blundell)
Women’s 4x400m Relay Team – 3rd (Erin Blundell, Bianca Grimaldi, Madeleine Powell, Erica Leal)
Men’s 4x100m Relay Team – 3rd (Anthony Collum, Alex Robertson, Emmanuel Fakiye, Sean Barnes)
The team finishing overall in 2nd place behind the ever strong Sydney University Team.
Thanks going to Mitch Yabsley for organising and pioneering the team throughout the extremely successful week and we hope to move the momentum into next years games.
