The Treloar Shield is an 8 round interclub track and field competition commencing in early October. It is named after the great NSW track and field athlete John Treloar. The Treloar Shield is an age group based competition for athletes of all ages, abilities, and aspirations. Athletes score points for their respective clubs which tally towards both the age group pennants and the overall Treloar Shield trophy. The winner of the 2014 Treloar Shield was UTS Northern Suburbs.

DECEMEBER 16, 2015
We are one round away from winning the Treloar Shield yet again. Treloar Shield is a measure of the broad participation levels of a club across Juniors, Open and Masters and an achievement out club should be proud of. Here is the link to the ANSW site for Treloar Shield points, Junior Age Pennant, Open Age Pennant and Masters Age Pennant after 7 rounds.
As can be seen by the ANSW site, the overall Treloar Shield should be retained as will the Masters Age Pennant. Opens are doing a fantastic job to be top of the points table, leading by 524.5 points from Sydney Uni. If we hold on, this will be the first time since the inception of the Open Age Pennant Points system in 2013 that we have beaten Sydney Uni. Juniors are third only 234.5 points behind Cherrybrook and 127.5 points behind Trinity. Cherrybrook always come home strong in the last round of Juniors, as can be seen here from the 2014 Junior Age Pennant, so expect many of their athletes their on Saturday.
To reach our goal of winning the Treloar Shield and all Age Pennants will require as many UTS Norths athletes as possible at E S Marks this Saturday for the final round of Treloar Shield. Details are here for the Treloar Shield Round 8, with online registration here. Online entry closes midnight Thursday 17th December, otherwise registration is at ES Marks on Saturday.
For this last round we need to focus on the Opens and Juniors. So if Masters Athletes register in Opens, where you feel you have chance of finishing top 20, this will strengthen the Opens. This is particularly the case in field events. Otherwise have a great day competing in the Masters.
Juniors should register in the Junior events. This is especially the case for Under 20s where there are usually less participants. We have won the 2013 and 2014 Junior Age Pennants and a chance of retaining the Junior Age Pennant in 2015, if we have as many Juniors there as possible.
Thank you to all of you who have participated over the last 7 rounds to take us this close to achieving a clean sweep.
All the best to everyone competing on Saturday.
