Annual membership to UTS Northern Suburbs Athletic Club covers the period 1 October 2019 to 30 September 2020.
The 1 October to 30 September time frame covers both the Summer and Winter season.
The 1 April to 30 September time frame covers Winter season only (RunNSW category).

UTS Norths athletes excelled in the NSW Short Course Cross Country Championships at Dundas on Saturday

Ed Goddard, fresh from his superb 4th in the World Uni Games half marathon in Naples, finished a game second in the open 6km event (19:05). He was beaten by Brad Milosevic who is a Commonwealth Games marathon runner. Leo Peterson ran a very creditable 6th in the excellent time of 19:50, not far behind the medal winners.
Not to be outdone, the women scored four medals including one gold. In the open event of 4kms, Kate Spencer and Izzy Thornton-Bott had a close tussle with Kate eventually claiming the silver (22:20) ahead of Izzy who won the bronze (22:30). Deborah Drennan was pleased with her silver medal in the 60+ 4km event.
Promising junior Grace Kells (see photo), only recently joined the club and ran a superb race to claim a gold medal in the 15 years event. She ran the 4kms in 16:02, an excellent time.
Finally, the men’s 50+ team of Brad Sharpe 16:50, Kim Loane 17:34, Kevin Chamberlain 17:55 and Trevor Young 20:10 scored a silver medal in the team event for their age group. Congratulations to all of the medal winners.
Other good performances were achieved by Doug Barrett 4th (65+), Margaret Thomas 5th (60+) and Dorothy Kass 5th (65+).






Outstanding performances by UTS Norths athletes in the National Cross Country Championships

Congratulations to some outstanding performances by UTS Norths athletes in the National Cross Country Championships at West Dapto last weekend.
Ed Goddard, one of the leading long distance runners in the country, claimed a bronze medal in the open 10k event. After being the early leader, Ed ran came 3rd behind Victoria’s David McNeill, just missing the silver medal by 2 seconds.

Kieran Gorman followed up on his excellent run in the Street Relays with a game 38th in the U18 event with a run of 19:54s. Simon Magner came 39th in the U16 event over 4k with a time of 13:34.
In the women’s event, Abbey Rockliff claimed a bronze medal in the U20 event. Abbey ran 21:37 for the 6k event, only 8 seconds behind the winner from Queensland. Abbey was delighted with her run and will now take a break from competition to concentrate on her HSC. Her goal in the summer season will be the State 3km titles.

Congratulations to Sybella Warton who claimed a bronze in the Para 12 years event in a time of 9:35 over the 2km distance.
