UTS Norths is pleased to announce that the grass at Rotary Athletic Field has been laid.  As we are now entering  the cooler months of winter, it is expected the field will remain out of action until Spring to allow the roots to take hold and grass to grow. The fence surrounding the field will remain up to protect grass while it takes root. We will keep all club members updated on a monthly basis of the progress.

Silver to Ed Goddard in the National Cross Country Championships

SEPTEMBER, 02 2017

The Australian Open Cross Country Championships were held recently in Wollongong and it is congratulations to Ed Goddard for winning a silver medal in the open 10km event and a gold in the U23 event. Ed gave the following comments about his race “led lots of the early stages and again in the middle lap, a front pack of 4 broke away in the last lap and I went with the leader before it strung out, raced with 3rd place over the back section and moved away over the last 500m. Felt really good and race plan went plan with behind able to surge early and try and string the race out.” Ed ran 30:45, only 15 seconds behind the winner Andrew Buchanan from Victoria.

This effort rounds off a fantastic winter season for Ed. A few weeks earlier, Ed came 5th in the City to Surf in 44:01 – another terrific performance.

Back to the Nationals, Hannah Cerezo ran a very creditable 12th place in the u16 event in the 14:24.
